Animal welfare in sustainable food systems

Climate change, the nitrogen problem and animal welfare are high up the public agenda. At the same time, there’s a global demand for food security as well as a sufficient supply of animal protein. This is why the Animal Sciences Group (ASG) is researching how livestock farming can become more sustainable and responsible, and how animals can contribute to new food production systems. ASG uses innovative sensor technology, Big Data, and complex cell systems in its research on this topic.
